Strategic Planning workshop for High Tech Agricultural Education & Research in Bangladesh was Inaugurated at Hotel Intercontinental conference hall in Dhaka Bangladesh on 01 July 2019.
Bangladesh Agricultural University, Asian Development Bank (ADB) and University Grants Commission (UGC) were jointly organized the Ceremony.
The UGC Chairman Professor Dr.Kazi Shahidullah was present as chief guest and BAU Vice chancellor Professor Dr.Lutfal Hassan presided over the Inaugural Session while ADB Country Director Mr.Manmohan Parkash addressed the inaugural ceremony as Special Guest .
Professor Dr. Monjurul Alam of BAU delivered keynote speech as Challenges and Opportunities for High Tech Agriculture Education and Research.
Professor Dr. M.A. Sattar Mandal,Emeritus Professor, BAU and Dr. Gi Soon Song, Principle Social Sector Specialist ADB were present as Moderator of the pannel discussion session .Professor Dr.Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, Director Planning and Development of BAU Coordinated the workshop as BAU Part.
The workshop arranged panel discussion consisted of key officials and international experts.After the inaugural session, the government policy makers, planners, academics and indistry representatives has done a group work to map,anticipate and deepen the future of agriculture education and Research in Bangladesh. This discussion outcome is visioning for Bangladesh high tech agriculture education and research towards 2041.workshop also remarks, Universities should strengthen curriculums,institutional capacity and their links with industry to support young,high-tech agropreneurs.
Educationist, Researchers , teachers, government planners, invited guests were participants of the discussion session .
